What we do

Ten ways in. All free.

You don't have to pick a lane or commit to anything. Come to one, come to all of them, come to one and never come back. Your call.

You don't have to pick one

There's no sign-up form, no track to commit to, and no minimum you have to attend. Most guys message us, come to one session, and figure out from there what they actually want to do.

  • 01
    Tell us you're coming
Your name and age is enough. We'll message you the next session time and where to meet.
  • 02
    Show up once
Someone is assigned to meet you so you're not walking in cold. Bring a friend if that's easier.
  • 03
Try whatever you want after that
Weekly training, a field day, a trip. Or come back once a month. Nobody is keeping score.

For you, ages 10 to 20

Weekly

Train with a mentor

You get paired with one adult who trains with you every week. Not a rotation of volunteers, the same person, so you're not starting over every time you show up.

Sessions run about an hour and get scaled to wherever you're at. He'll ask how school is going and actually listen to the answer, but you're never made to talk. Plenty of guys train for months before they say much, and that's fine.

Rites of Passage

A few days outdoors with other guys your age, run together with Journeymen. Hiking, cooking on a fire, sleeping outside, and long conversations that happen because there's nothing else to do.

It's hard on purpose. Every single person who has gone was nervous before it, including the adults. Everything is covered, including gear you don't own and a ride if you need one.

Field days

A few times a year we take over a Seattle park for the afternoon. Team sports, music, and a full meal at the end that nobody pays for.

There's nothing to sign up for and no reason you need to be here. Bring your friends, your brother, your parents. It's the easiest way to see what we're like before committing to anything.

Tournaments

Baseball, football, and kickball, with no alcohol anywhere near it. Teams get mixed so it isn't the same six guys winning every year.

Everyone plays regardless of how good you are. If you've never held a bat, someone will show you between innings. It ends with dinner together, which is honestly the point.

Gear, covered

Cleats, gloves, boots, a bag, whatever the thing is that's stopping you. If money is the only reason you're not playing, tell us and we handle it.

No forms, no proof of income, no explaining your family's situation to anyone. You tell a coach what you need and it shows up. Nobody else finds out.

League fees, covered

We pay your league fees, coaching, and equipment so you can play school or club sports for a full season without your family covering it.

You get a mentor alongside it, so you're not doing the season alone. He'll come to games when he can, which for a lot of guys is the first time anyone has.

Breathwork

Twenty minutes learning how to slow your body down on purpose. Box breathing and a few other techniques you can use anywhere without anyone noticing.

It sounds soft and it works. Useful before a test, in an argument, or at 2am when your head won't stop. Once you've learned it, it's yours and it costs nothing to use.

These three aren't aimed at you if you're under 20, but they're part of what we run.

These three aren't aimed at you if you're under 20. They're part of what we run, and the gala is what pays for everything above.

Gym memberships

For men in recovery, we cover a full gym membership so cost isn't the reason the routine stops.

It comes with an orientation so the first day isn't awkward, and a training partner who actually shows up with you. Turning up alone to a room full of strangers is where most people quit, so we remove that part.

Sound healing

Guided group sessions for stress and recovery. You lie on a mat for an hour and don't have to say anything to anyone.

It's built for men who would never book a therapy appointment but will try something that doesn't ask them to talk first. For a lot of people it's the first door they walk through.

Annual gala

Our December fundraiser in Seattle. Speakers, a silent auction, and dinner.

It isn't a program so much as the thing that funds them. Every scholarship, trip, and pair of cleats on this page traces back to what happens that night.
